The mold making process at SMT begins in Manufacturing Engineering. This cell works with our customers’ engineers to improve product design and insure that each mold is designed for optimum part manufacturability. Our team has extensive experience manufacturing unscrewing, hot runner and multiple slide action molds for a variety of close tolerance applications. SMT designers utilize ProEngineer to design each mold, and the electronic files become the foundation for our programmers and CNC machinists. SMT regularly designs and manufactures complex molds in four weeks.
