The machining functions at SMT are organized into high performance manufacturing cells, automated with robotics, and manned by expert technicians designing the workflow, programming the tool paths, and engineering the process plans in each cell for optimum “door-to-door” manufacturing times. This elevated glass walled office is the center of our High Performance Cell, our state of the art manufacturing operation. From this Command Center, our technical experts use Pro-Man solids modeling, Delcam PowerMill software, and MasterCam to program the machine tool paths and direct the operations for 24 hour production. Our CNC equipment includes sixteen networked machines, each equipped with 3-R work holders, for shared, repeatable positioning accuracy.
